Young bunnies should learn to use a litter box. A small cat litter box is suitable. It can be lined with newspaper or filled with a newspaper by-product called care fresh. Then lay some Timothy or Alfalfa hay on top. If your bunny isn't going in the litter box. Try confining his space to a small bathroom or laundry area until he gets the hang of it. Large spaces can confuse a rabbits idea of where he should do his poop. So can other animals in the house. If he still has trouble you can use a water spray bottle to spray him when he lisses. However, be sure you don't spray in his face. The rabbit will not like to be sprayed with water and he will know not to poop in the box after time because he will get wet. If you do not get him immedialty after he misses, he will not understand the reason. It is important to time it right.

Tip: If you have another rabbit , put some of its poop in the litter box of the rabbit you are trying to train.

.
Having two bunnies is rewarding especially if you work a lot. Consider getting your bunny a pal. He will be less lonely and afraid. It can be very amusing to watch two bunnies interact with eachother. However, make sure you are not putting an unspayed or unneutered male and female together or you will have babies

Today it is recommended that all rabbits be spayed or neutered. The reason for this is because with new medicines and cures for rabbits we find that they can live longer and healthier lives. Female rabbits can tend to develop uterine cancer later in life after the rabbit is too old to endure a spay operation. It is a sensitive topic for sure and one that should be researched and given thourough consideration.
